1. Eastern Europeans love their sparkling water - be VERY careful what you buy in the supermarkets (or you may end up with 6 bottles of sparkling water :( ) also sparkling water is sometimes cheaper which is different from home
2. do not just order a latte unless you like frothy milk (order cafe latte)
3. skinny milk is foreign in some places and they might reply with "we have 1/4 skim milk" also fresh milk is less common than in Australia
4. not everyday of the trip will be amazing and some days you will be sick of it and want to go home, but everyday is a great experience and it will be worth it!
5. hostels tend to be in the dodgy areas of cities more often than not so make sure you know where you're going
6. the Spanish have ridiculous timings and you will be very bored if you go out before 10am or in the afternoon and very hungry if you usually eat at 6pm
7. its really hard to find street crepes in France and a lot of them are pre made - Swanston Street definitely wins!
